Job description

As a Senior UX Designer for a fast-growing company, you will conduct foundational and usability research, collaborate with teammates to frame problems that need to be solved, brainstorm solutions via sketches, wireframes, prototypes, user flows etc, and lead usability testing both pre and post launch. A successful candidate will work with the Product and Engineering teams in leading discovery practices, creating high-fidelity designs, and helping to scale the product design team with best practices and superior documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate discovery findings and business objectives into simple experiences

  • Leverage the design system in all daily design decisions. Balance bringing unique design elements and patterns to the table while advocating for consistency across the application

  • Utilize your mastery of visual design, consistently using proper hierarchy, color, and clean typography, while incorporating interesting design elements that delight

  • Push the boundaries of our animation, transitions, and interaction libraries while maintaining consistency across the experience

  • Understand and implement accessibility and WCAG standards

  • Consistently predict and address a majority of edge cases, sad paths, and empty states

  • Make understanding user needs your #1 priority

  • Seek to understand the holistic view of the problem and design comprehensive experiences with big picture strategy

  • Work with product and engineering teams to break down projects into a work plan - define scope, phases, and groom stories as a team

  • Identify KPIs to measure success

  • Optimize engineering efficiency by balancing beautiful solutions with technical constraints

  • Communicate clearly to define, discuss, and present your work

  • Be a team player by providing creative direction and contribute to thought leadership around design processes within the organization

  • Lead and mentor other designers on the team through ongoing feedback and critique

  • Strong understanding of emerging trends that will inform development of best in class, user-centered design experiences

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience designing for consumer-facing or enterprise SaaS applications

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working on mobile applications or responsive web applications

  • Autonomous mastery of craft: ability to define problems & goals, map user flows, prototype interactions, and oversee the implementation by partnering closely with product and engineering

  • A portfolio showcasing seamless and consistent product-centric user experiences

  • Fluent in modern tools like Figma, Invision, Jira, Miro etc.

  • Mastery of design systems and component libraries

  • Experience working within a cross-functional team in an agile environment

  • You will work closely with the Product and Engineering teams and report to the VP of Product

Nice to Haves:

  • Knowledge and passion of health tech applications and/or mobile experiences for older adults

  • Experience with front-end web development (HTML, CSS, JS)

Salary range: $140k - $160k
