Job Summary

The Service Engineer role is the technical service leader who performs and leads MRO in the field. This role will work independently, or in a team. They will be responsible for implementing processes and procedures for servicing MSHS supported products/equipment. Responsible for customer service internally and externally. Professional responsibility in delivering all tasks assigned to the company standard.

Duties & Responsibilities

In addition to the requirements of a Level 2 Service Engineer:

  • Demonstrates high-level fault-finding capabilities and high-level understanding of systems and controls to the point of being able to deliver high level product instruction to customers and other employees.
  • Can perform fault finding at the electrical and mechanical level, can read and interpret complex electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Has the ability to create and develop control system diagrams.
  • Can be relied upon to train junior field service engineers in all aspects of site work.
  • Can be relied upon to provide in house support for system testing.
  • Can be relied upon to provide a high level of TAG support identifying the correct product to meet the needs of the customer’s process.
  • Has the ability to install and commission standard controls, small systems and actuation.
Requirements:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Familiar with a variety of the field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • May lead and direct the work of others.
  • Creative thinking, critical thinking, and ability to problem solve

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Require 4-6 years’ experience in a relevant field, plus a recognized electrical or mechanical certificate from Trade School or Military Training Institution
  • Associates Degree OR a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
