Job description

Automation Personnel Services is looking for a hard-working Shipping Coordinator for a company based in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will ensure the movement of materials from our facility to our customer base by means of LTL, UPS and Fed Ex, while also maintaining the fulfillment and invoicing of each shipment daily. Additionally assisting with answering incoming calls, customer questions and sales data entry.

Pay Rate
$16.00 to $20.00 per hour (Depends on Experience)

Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Shipping Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain complete ownership of the shipping and billing cycle
• Acts as the direct point of contact for logistics and carrier needs and requests
• Provide the highest level of customer service for each customer or vendor
• Meet and/or exceed individual and team goals
• Research new and existing freight vendors for better terms and pricing
• Collaborates with multiple internal and external teams to ensure there is clear communication on issues with orders/ shipping
• Oversee the Logistics Flatbed program, while coordinating trucks monthly
• Effectively service incoming calls and on-line chats with customers to assist with questions
• Assist inside sales with data entry for sales orders
• Acts as strategic partner for the team by continuously sharing ideas that will facilitate company growth and/or streamline current processes

Shipping Coordinator Qualifications and Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent logistics and shipping experience
• Ability to balance multiple conflicting priorities while remaining professional and composed
• Must have great customer service skills
• Strong time management and problem solving skills
• Able to communicate and work well in a team
• Able to sit for multiple hours per day
• Drug test and Background check required
