Position Description

The primary function of this position is to support shop fabrication needs by preparing CAD drawings for producing and fabricating metal parts with Plasma table and other CNC fabrication equipment.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drawings used to produce and fabricate metal parts as required.
• Operate Plasma table to produce and fabricate metal parts as required.
• Operate other CNC shop production equipment to produce and fabricate metal parts as required.
• Assist with shop fabrication needs as required.
• Prepare submittal drawings for fabrication projects for fabrication projects at direction of supervisors.
• Assist with preparation of fabrication drawings for ongoing projects, including minor detailing steel as required at direction of supervisors.
• Attend regular development meetings and work closely with Superintendents.
• Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process.
• Incorporate feedback into detailed designs for complex projects.
• Ability to analyze data and situations and come up with creative solutions.
• Make revisions to models and drawings as requested.
• Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies.
• Pursue ongoing education in the field.

Job Qualifications

• 1 year of experience utilizing CAD software.
• 1 year of experience working in metal fabrication shop setting, including operating CNC plasma table.
• Make decisions based on designs.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with others to solve problems.
• Firm grasp of mathematics, engineering, and industry information.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable with sitting for long periods of time.
• Must be able to pass drug screen and criminal background check.
