AVP, IT Application Support, Site Reliability Engineering

What will you be doing?
- On behalf of a global financial services organization, create complex and innovative technology solutions through engineering principles using knowledge of design, analytics, testing, and application programming.
- Utilize knowledge of IT design, analytics, testing, and application programming to work on scalable solutions across Market Risk.
- Collaborate with vendor and in house resources to achieve common targets of reducing manual redundant monitoring and provide solutions at scale to make Barclays Run-The-Bank technology a better place to work.
- Utilize understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) philosophy, technologies, platforms and tools, SLA management, incident resolution, and automation to hold responsibility for automation of batch management flows using CA Autosys and CA iDash scheduling tools and scripts in python, unix and powershell scripting language.
- Responsible for installation, upgrade and testing of monitoring infrastructure using AppDynamics, ITRS, and other monitoring tools, for Java based applications installed on weblogic and tomcat.
- Responsible for automation of daily batch status emails using scripts in python, unix and powershell scripting language.
- Automate day-to-day business activities including network maintenance events, patching events, resiliency events and application deployments.
- Participate in design and project status meeting, and provide operational documentation to project team members.
- Identify critical processes for monitoring, plan, coordinate and implement standards, and recommend changes to improve performance.
- Participate and support functional, regression and user acceptance testing.
- Provide IT support for production environments including SME support for issue triaging and root cause analysis.
What we’re looking for:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or Applied Computer Science plus six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the position offered or as a Systems Analyst, Software Engineer or a related occupation. At least six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience must include: Conducting Business Analysis, Technical Analysis and Change Management from initial scoping and requirements gathering, through to issue management; SAP Business Objects to report financial review to business stakeholders; Netcool to configure effective alerting to manage production processes and programs; Autosys to automate processes and reduce manual workarounds; and SQL/PLSQL, JIRA, Java, Weblogic and Tomcat.
