Bring your culinary skills and join our team as a cook, where you will directly supervise the kitchen staff to ensure optimal departmental efficiency, productivity, and quality standards.
Responsibilities

  • To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • To assist, as directed, to train, schedule, support, review, and discipline Kitchen employees, to maintain highest possible levels of employee morale and department productivity.
  • To oversee the proper and efficient preparation of food for all restaurants, employee meals, banquets, room service, and special functions, ensuring that quality and quantity standards are being met.
  • To maintain a current computer listing of all scheduled business, including purveyors, deliveries, events, and menu changes.
  • To inventory and supply storage areas as needed, to accommodate business needs.
  • To follow all specified procedures to open or close the kitchen.
  • To assume all duties of the Executive Chef in his/her absence.
  • To properly document Personnel/Payroll transactions, as directed, for processing in the Personnel office.
  • To represent and market The Sea Ranch Lodge in a positive and professional manner as requested and continually promote TSRL internally and externally by attending special events when requested and building relationships both on and off property.
  • To promote and comply with all policies and procedures of The Sea Ranch Lodge.
  • To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions and avoid injury to self and others.
  • To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas and equipment at all times.
  • To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
  • To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.

Qualifications*

  • English fluency required.
  • Spanish fluency helpful.
  • Must have minimum two years prior hotel/kitchen experience, including one year supervisory experience.
  • Familiar with OSHA, SB198, local Department of Health regulations, and relevant current laws governing handling of hazardous substances.
  • Valid California driver’s license required.
  • Proof of personal automobile insurance coverage required.

The Sea Ranch Lodge is set on 53 acres of coastal California landscape within The Sea Ranch community and has long been a gathering place for Sea Ranch residents and nearby neighbors. It is also an end point of the Bluff Trail, a public beach trail that stretches the length of The Sea Ranch, connecting to Gualala Regional Park. Beyond the Lodge spans acres of meadows, flora and fauna, a barn dating back to the 1870’s, and access to Black Point Beach.
