We are currently looking for experienced, motivated, and creative individuals to fill a MOC Specialist position within Oxy’s Process Safety and Risk Engineering Team in Denver or Platteville, CO.


The MOC Specialist has the overall responsibility of ensuring that the Management of Change (MOC) and Prestart-up Safety Review (PSSR) Program requirements as specified in the Oxy ORCM MOC Procedure are adhered to. Overall, the MOC Specialist is the caretaker of the MOC and PSSR programs for their area of responsibility and provides day-to-day support to engineering, operations, and other technical teams. The position is also responsible for driving program enhancements and improvements based on observations and self-assessments.

Responsibilities:


  • Ensure proposed change is properly categorized as either Replacement-in-Kind (RIK) or requires a Management of Change (MOC),
  • Ensure individual MOC is assigned the appropriate Class 1-4 based on change scope,
  • Receives the appropriate Process Hazard Analysis based on potential impact of the change,
  • Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained to authorize the MOC,
  • Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) findings are appropriately documented and tracked to closure,
  • Ensure appropriate Pre-startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) are completed based on MOC class and complexity,
  • Monitor MOC processing throughout the workflow to ensure timeliness and proper sequencing is followed,
  • MOCs are audited for quality and completeness prior to MOC closure,
  • Maintain all MOC related KPIs for their assigned area and ensure data is communicated to stakeholders per established methods and frequencies,
  • Provide MOC program training to system users, as needed,
  • Provide SAP MOC system technical support in troubleshooting performance issues,
  • Provide notifications to impacted personnel in their area of responsibility for implemented changes,
  • Facilitate reoccurring MOC stakeholder status meetings to ensure proper progression of projects is occurring and outstanding activities are addressed,
  • Actively engage in surface operations team meetings and projects via participation in PHA and PSSR activities.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas Surface Operations (preferred)
  • Good communication & presentation skills; will be required to train users and present data to leadership
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently and meet objectives with minimal supervision
  • Well organized and able to handle multiple tasks occurring in parallel
  • Ability to work well in a team environment across a wide range of experience and disciplines
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), experience with SAP (desired)
  • Experience with data management systems and tools (PowerBI, Spotfire, SQL) (desired)
  • Ability to travel as needed (<10%)
