Specialized Instructor/Home-Based Teacher
Hiring Immediately for Growing Program!
Become a Specialized Instructor, where you can work with children and their families in their home setting. The children range in age from birth -3. You can be a part of children's early development and parent eductation...what a great way to make a difference in people's lives!
Essential Duties:
- Utilize developmentally appropriate assessment tools, observation, discussions with families/care givers, and examination of records to assess each child in the six areas of development.
- Develop Family Service Plans, incorporating therapeutic objects and recommendations.
- Plan and implement visits with chidlren and their families to incorporate activities and techniques that will support children in achieving developmental objectives.
- Actively participate in regularly scheduled muti-disciplinary meetings, in-service trainings, and agency trainings.
- Participate in transition processes: home programming to other programs, classroom programming or out of direct services.
- Complete rquired reports for funders, families, etc.
- Be creative, energetic, and life-changing!
Education and/or Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early intervention, early childhood special education, early childhood education, child development, special education or family studies, and 1 year of full-time or full-time-equivalent experience working directly with preschool children with disabilities and their families or a university-supervised or college-supervised student practicum or teaching experience with preschool children with disabilities and their families, OR:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university which includes 15 credit hours in early intervention, early childhood special education, early childhood education, child development, special education or family studies; and 1 year of full-time or full-time-equivalent experience working directly with preschool children with disabilities and their families; and demonstrated knowledge, understanding and skills needed to perform the functions specified in § 4226.54 (relating to early interventionist responsibilities).
