We are hiring a Specialty Risk Adjuster to work in a hybrid capacity at any of our 5 regional locations or potentially work fully remote, depending upon candidate qualifications.

Great West Casualty Company has a terrific opportunity for a Specialty Risk Adjuster. In this role, you will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle liability and bodily injury claims through strong partnerships with Captive and Contract Claims Insureds.

In this position, you will:

• Collaborate with insureds to investigate and document facts.
• Utilize claims knowledge to evaluate and influence the reserve-setting process.
• Maintain and update knowledge of relevant state negligence laws and medical terminology.
• Exercise resilience and fortitude to exert and explain claim best practice aspects while maintaining compromise with the insured.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
• 10 years of liability claims experience preferred.
• Background working within a captive and/or third-party administrators environment is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to interact and influence a variety of people while displaying the highest level of professionalism.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn claims procedures, relevant state negligence laws, claims defense positions, and medical records.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying claim volume.
