Job Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of Finance Team and support the broader organization interfacing with Manufacturing supporting production, monthly closing, financial reporting, cost analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Support Product costing analysis as well as participate in our monthly reporting, budgeting, and forecasting cadence. Including detailed analysis of variances and standard cost development.
- Identify and prepare internal targeted cost analysis to support continuous improvement actions to drive higher margins across all product lines
- Maintain BOM’s/Routings while working with the Engineering and manufacturing to ensure on-going accuracy and reasonableness based on available manufacturing processes
- Perform variance analysis across multiple manufacturing lines
- Analyze labor efficiency, validate actuals and propose needed updates for new product and standard products for accurate standards and potential cost reductions for all product lines
- Support leadership in coordinating budgeting / forecasting of Standards for all products as required
- Create Monthly product margin analysis identifying performance drivers and variances against targets Oversee the Accounting team’s tracking and monitoring of raw materials and consumables inventory, including physical counts and identification of potential excess and obsolete inventory in coordination with Supply Chain and Operations
- Participate in a variety of audits, including financial IT, and inventory, by collecting required documentation, performing physical counts, and other activities as directed.
- Perform month end close activities related to Cost Accounting. Oversee the month-end close process for inventory and cost of sales. Including analysis and commentary as part of teams overall financial deliverables.
- Understand and explain cost drivers
- Oversee the Accounting team’s tracking and monitoring of raw materials and consumables inventory, including physical counts and identification of potential excess and obsolete inventory in coordination with Supply Chain and Operations
- Partner with other relevant functions, such as Procurement and Operations, to update costs for materials, labor, and overhead
- Leverage experience to bring insight to process and system improvement, both short-term initiatives and longer-term ERP implementation objectives
- Support various ad hoc requests from the finance leadership team
- Ensure adherence to all departmental and company-wide safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Finance or Accounting
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience required
- Proven self-starter with a strong work ethic and proven track record of producing high-quality/accurate work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact with diverse people across different functions.
- Demonstrated ability to look ahead and plan complex tasks to meet deadlines.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong spreadsheet skills, must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Access knowledge. Including, building queries and reporting writing
- Must be detailed oriented with strong analytical skill
- Ability to handle multiply projects, organized, and willing to develop unique solutions to complex problems
- Strong communication skills
