The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.

Job Summary:

Conducts nondestructive examination (NDE) and quality control (QC) inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards | Captures and analyzes statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards | Recommends new or enhanced methods, procedures and standards


Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs inspections, non-destructive testing and fitness-for-service evaluation on refinery equipment (such as but not limited to tanks, heaters, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, piping) to ensure mechanical integrity, safety and reliability. Ensures construction and repairs comply with codes, standards and industry practices.
  • Analyzes inspection findings. Prepares reports. Generates repair/upgrade/modification recommendations based on inspection findings.
  • Collaborates with Engineering and Maintenance to establish inspection intervals per applicable industry codes, standards and recommended practices. Prepares inspection plan and work list.
  • Collaborates with Maintenance to develop and implement risk-based routine and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Maintains inspection databases. Ensures documentation is current, accurate and compliant.


Required Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:

At least 5 years of related experience.

American Petroleum Institute (API) 510 & 570, required.

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Master's or MBA degree typically preferred.


Preferred Qualifications – Education, Skills & Experience:

  • 7-10 years pressure equipment inspection, nondestructive examination (NDE) and/or welding required.
  • American Petroleum Institute (API) 580 & 653 certifications, a plus OR willing to obtain both within two years.
