JOB SUMMARY:
Provides clerical support and assists department staff by reviewing all information in files and databases in Worthless Check Division. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.
Responsibilities:
Records, reviews, files and inputs data to computer database.
Responds to telephone inquiries and directs to proper person; collects data in response to inquiries from merchants, public, defense attorneys, and fellow employees.
Maintains files in an accurate and efficient manner.
Fills in data information in the preparation of warrants; assists defendants with affidavits; responds to defendant and defendant’s attorney inquiries.
Prepares resets and dismissals for court.
Exchanges information with different arresting agencies, court secretaries, prosecutors, and County Clerk personnel.
Scans offense reports into database.
Retrieves data from database and paper files as part of discovery compliance.
Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED.
Two years job related experience.
Strong computer and typing skills (minimum 30 WPM).
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, elected officials and outside agencies.
Ability to learn and comprehend established office routines and policies from oral and written instructions, including financial and mathematical tasks.
Understanding of ethics and confidential issues.
Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.

SALARY:
$15.40 - $19.25 per hour, based on qualifications
