Summary

• Manages the assigned tasks off the master sanitation schedule for the respective shift.
• Ensures the completion of the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly schedules on the respective shift
• Keeps all areas of the plant in clean and orderly condition.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assigns tasks to the other staff on the shift
• Cleans lint, dust, oil, and grease from machines,overhead pipes, and conveyors.
• Cleans the following: screens and filters; floors, rooms, hallways lobbies lounges, rest rooms, corridors, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
• Operate riding scrubber.
• Washes walls & overheads.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets and trash carts.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Operates industrial truck to transport materials within plant.
• Painting of walls, floors and equipment.
• Patching and caulking floor /wall surfaces.
• Able to work from heights of 30 ft. using scissor lifts or boom lift.
• Able to work from ladders and platforms.
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Basic mechanical and painting skills.
• 6 months Sanitation experience required.
• Forklift operation experience required.
• Must be able to complete Sanitation Operator Training annual per Alsip Plant Training Checklist

Physical requirements

• Stand, walk, use hands or fingers, sit handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, hear and talk.
• Occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Can frequently move or lift up to 50lbs. occasionally to 100lbs.
• Specific vision abilities, distance, peripheral, depth and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
