As a Robotics Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing software solutions for Fanatics’ Automated & Robotics Fulfillment Centers. You will work with Supply Chain Technology engineering teams to design, develop, test and deploy software that is critical for integration & orchestrating robotics solutions for Inbound & Outbound processes. You will work on reusable solutions for the Fanatics Fulfillment Network, including WMS, WES, WCS, PLC systems.
What you'll be doing
- Responsible for participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle: design, development, testing and deployment of critical applications
- Help to architect and develop orchestration & integration solutions for Robotics & Automation technology, in particular AGV/AMR fleet
- Design, develop and maintain real-time, high-performance software to control / drive technology in the Fulfillment Center
- Create software solutions for managing goods movement and fulfillment within our facilities – both Inbound and Outbound
- Help to architect solutions that are highly scalable, transferrable, and observable
- Define best practices for software development as it pertains to Robotics & Automation
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Tech engineering teams & product management in delivering software and training
- Define, Create, and Execute development stories that are scoped appropriately for iterative deliverables against timeline targets in the product roadmap
- Develop simulation tools to facilitate quality testing for Robotics & Automation software
- Develop Functional Specifications as part of design deliverables in partnership with the PM team to define what is being built to meet stakeholder requirements
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and root cause production issues in both software and across technology within the facility
- Provide input, knowledge and research on key tech, product, & vendor decisions in Fulfillment / Distribution Centers and Supply Chain Network
What we're looking for
- 5-10 years of hands-on Agile Software Development experience in a polyglot programming environment
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Technology, Warehouse Management & Robotics / Automated solutions
- Experience working with, supporting and integrating third party vendors for Supply Chain Technology
- Experience in building highly Distributed, Microservices-driven systems & managing complex state in a highly concurrent environment
- Experience in a Cloud-based Development, Cloud-based Technologies, such as AWS, GCP, Azure and their various managed solutions
- Several years of experience in any programming language such as C++, C# / Java, GoLang or similar language with a focus on design, develop and implement scalable RESTful services and APIs
- Knowledge & experience in Supply Chain & Warehouse Automation business processes, including Receiving, Putaway, Picking, Packing, Sortation, etc.
- Proven experience integrating and managing AGV / AMR robotics technologies & vehicle fleets and/or experience in other automated, programmable Goods-to-Person systems
- Demonstrates an understanding & experience of AGV/AMR pathing & simulation
- Experience in a variety of other automated warehouse solutions, such as Automated Put Walls
- Experience in building or implementing and managing Automation AI and Fulfillment Learning Models for optimized operations
- Familiarity with PLC and integrations to Warehouse Conveyance systems, in particular for the purposes of orchestrating AGV/AMR fleets
- Familiarity with Supply Chain KPIs and performance metrics
- Familiarity with Temporal.io & React/React Native is a plus
