Veterans Inc., the largest provider of services to veterans and their families throughout New England, is looking for a professional, highly motivated, detail-oriented, and skilled individual to fill the TFA Coordinator position and become a valued member of Veterans Inc. team!
The Supportive Service for Veterans and their Families (SSVF) Program is adding a Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA) Coordinator to the team. The TFA Coordinator is responsible for working within the Finance department to perform duties associated with the payment and reconciliation of SSVF Grant - client assistance dollars to benefit-eligible Veterans and families. This position works closely with the program director, case managers, and the Finance team to ensure the appropriate distribution of grant dollars in compliance with the SSVF grant program guide.
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAY TO DAY:

- Work with the Program Director, Case Managers, and Housing Specialist to ensure timely processing of client assistance check requests.
- Coordinates check requests and distribution of payments for all SSVF clients and other grant disbursements accurately and in a timely manner.
- Verifying all TFA Documents are complete and signed off by case manager and supervisor.
- Enter invoices into Financial Edge, reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies. Codes check requests appropriately in accordance with standard accounting principles, grant stipulations, and Veterans Inc. internal control requirements.
- Ensure proper assignment of expenses by verifying and managing grant budget. Provide weekly spending reports to management.
- Performs accounting and clerical functions in conformity with all GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Works with the Grants Manager and audit firms during various audits.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or three (3) years of related experience.
- Strong skills and experience working with MS Excel. Experience with accounting software (CRM, Salesforce, Greater Plains, Financial Edge) preferred.
- Experience working in nonprofit multi-fund accounting, including experience tracking and reporting financial data for multiple grant funders and federal grants highly valued
- Must be able to successfully pass a CORI/Background records check.
- Compliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Religious and Medical Exemptions are considered.
