Arcadis is seeking a Staff Ecologist with 4+ years of relevant work experience to join our growing Atlanta team.

Role description:

You should be highly organized, responsive, work well under tight deadlines, and have strong written and verbal communication skills. You must reside in Georgia and be available to work out of our Atlanta office (remote working is available). The position would require field work, occasional overtime (paid), and some in-state travel (with the potential for out-of-state travel). You will not be expected to supervise staff in this position.

Role accountabilities:

  • Be responsible for supporting/leading field efforts, impact assessment, and associated reporting/permitting
  • Must possess strong technical/scientific writing skills to prepare technical reports and permits
  • Must possess experience with the following: wetland delineation and identification of waters of the United States; Section 404 Clean Water Act permitting; stream buffer variance permitting; protected species habitat assessment; wetland assessment and mitigation
  • Proficiency with Trimble GPS and ArcGIS/ArcPro preferred
  • Knowledge of NEPA process a plus
  • Linear transportation and/or State related experience including construction plan review, reporting, project types, expectation, etc. preferred

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • BS in ecology, natural science, or related field
  • 4+ years’ post-graduation work experience in the ecology field

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in ecology, natural science, or related field
  • 2+ years’ experience in wetland delineation, permitting, and/or protected species
  • Experience working with GDOT

Arcadis offers benefits for full time positions. We offer seven paid holidays and potentially up to two floating holidays per calendar year depending on start, and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $70000 - $106000 / year.
