We are currently seeking a full time Civil Engineer in Training for projects throughout the US. The EIT will work at the direction of project engineers applying various design engineering techniques, modeling methods, and construction support to deliver successful fisheries and water resource related projects. Projects may include hatchery projects, stream restoration, adult and juvenile anadromous salmonid collection and sorting facilities, fish ladders, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, storm water collection systems, project specific site civil grading, pump station and distribution piping design, septic system design, and construction assistance.
Responsibilities: Under the direction of a licensed engineer:
- Establishes project specific design criteria, gathers historical information including drawings, design reports, and codes.
- Prepares Design Development Reports summarizing project criteria and historical information.
- Performs standard computations and analysis.
- Prepares mark-ups and drawings for CAD staff.
- Edits Project Specific specifications.
- Performs services during construction including submittal review and responses to information and clarification requests.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; or Master's degree (preferred)
- Certified EIT
- 1-3 years+ of civil design experience, water resource related experience a plus
- Knowledge of relevant Industry and Agency Design Codes and Standards
- Demonstrated working knowledge and experience with software used in hydrology and hydraulics
- Experience in reading, interpreting, and communicating the design intent of contract documents, plans and specifications
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently
- Must have a flexible work schedule, be willing to travel up to 20%
- Must be able to work in a team environment
