The Last Wave approach for stagehands:

A stagehand performs a myriad of different tasks on any given event. The ability to specialize your skills comes with experience and we are happy to train individuals who show a passion for learning, the ability to arrive on-time, and can maintain a professional attitude in stressful situations. Here at Last Wave, our stagehands gain experience that prepares them for A1, V1, L1, and TD roles. Our stagehands get the most work opportunities out of any role, and as such you will be exposed to every aspect of event production.

On our events, a stagehand’s responsibilities include:

Show up on time, clean, and presentable. Our dresscode is black pants, black shoes, and our Last Wave team shirt. No gang-related or potentially offensive prints on outerwear, hats, etc.

Working with other team members to problem solve and produce amazing live events

Loading and unloading of equipment

Setting up and striking of gear under the direction of LD, TD, and A1.

Aiming, focusing, & cut in of lekos / custom gobos (under direction of L1).

Addressing DMX fixtures according to an address map (under direction of L1).

Running audio cabling and connecting speakers (under direction of A1).

Running AC cables to different equipment (under direction of TD)

Cleaning & organizing cable runs with gaff tape.

Troubleshooting minor technical issues.

Maintaining a clean and organized backstage/dry storage area.

Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.

Removing of trash or left behind equipment

Making sure all poles/steel/speaker stands are dressed properly with duvateen and look as great as possible

Job Type: Contract

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • 4 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Evening shift
  • Night shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • San Francisco Bay Area, CA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
