Job description
This position is responsible for executing the company's replenishment and inventory allocation policies, objectives, and initiatives in order to achieve sales goals. Analyzes store sales patterns to determine optimal replenishment levels across all merchandise categories and coordinate with Demand Planners and Category Teams, and Supply Chain partners to achieve instock and sales order coverage objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Development
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for merchandising, inventory, and field management in support of store replenishment processes.
  • Represent Store Planning in cross-functional meetings and project groups with focus on New Store opening process.
  • Assume planning lead in new store process to ensure initial setup, planogram fill, and stocking levels.
  • Coordinate with project managers and report out to team on execution and exception management.
Inventory Shipment & Placement
  • Collaborate with the Transportation/Allocation planners, identifying issues and ensuring regular shipping coverage is maintained.
  • Coordinate special requests with field management, store ops, and new store team.
  • Interact with Distribution to support demand planning and projection of short-term outbound shipment volume.
  • Backup allocation as needed for planning and store support.
  • Update planning databases and shared team files that support planning and RP functions.
Inventory Planning
  • Support the company inventory objectives by driving the reorder point update processes including exception reviews, special requests, and assortment changes.
  • Perform two major bi-annual flooring reviews.
  • Perform monthly re-alignment updates.
  • Communicate monthly changes to Inventory Team.
  • Utilize JDA and SAP to analyze and plan store level inventory targets, providing reporting on stock usage, inventory levels, and forecasting that support store cluster.
  • Make recommendations as needed to support changes in trends, assortments, and store capacity.
  • Prepare for and participate in the following group meetings reporting out as needed on allocation plans, inventory status, and issues.
  • Weekly POD meeting – assigned group

  • Monthly Regional Manager Discussion
  • Review and report out on order coverage data monthly and establish plans of action as needed for implementation.
  • Review weekly Instock exceptions and execute corrective action as needed.
  • Coordinate promotional builds for high volume events.
  • Establish inventory plans for new stores based on cluster and POG assignment.
Store Support
  • Interact with Transportation Team as needed to ensure shipment schedules are supporting inventory targets.
  • Investigate and follow-up on store order issues as needed to support customer service.
  • Conduct monthly inventory planning updates with Regional Managers and participate in regional store calls as needed.
  • Research and follow-up on any issues impacting store replenishment

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA / BS) from accredited four-year college or university.
Related Experience, Qualifications and/or Certifications:
  • Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior inventory management or inventory allocation experience required.
Computer Skills / Special Equipment Knowledge:
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required including ability to use compound formulas, lookups, and pivot tables. Access and database management preferred.
  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • Experience with JDA or other forecasting and replenishment software preferred
