As the Strategy Data Scientist, you will develop algorithms based upon close partnership with worldwide strategy and commercial personnel, including generating novel statistical models in support of key analysis and forecasting goals. This role requires a high degree of data science knowledge and experience, in particular supporting time series and cluster analysis.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing algorithms and models to solve critical business challenges
- Providing statistical and advanced analytics expertise as needed to market intelligence teams
- Participating in the development and maintenance of modeling activities
- Building and testing statistical and machine learning models, including regression, deep learning, and/or statistical modeling
- Advocating for and setting high standards for data science best practices
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field
- Have knowledge of Python and other relevant programming languages
- Have substantial experience in data science and data analytics (5+ years), including statistical methods
- Have excellent analytics and problem-solving, including ability to form hypotheses and move forward in the absence of complete information
Desired Characteristics
Following characteristics are relevant and useful to the role but, not mandatory:
- Masters of Ph.D in mathematics or data science
- Market driver knowledge, including macroeconomic and econometrics
- Experience in the oilfield services industry and/or the exploration & production industry
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with colleagues across all businesses/cultures
- Continuous learner
- Works with limited data science supervision and close team collaboration
