Summer 2023 Part-Time Position with Gaming/Simulation, 3D Design, and AI at a Central PA Tech Startup (Pennsylvania Residents Only)

This is an on-site position in the State College, Pennsylvania area, home of the Pennsylvania State University and its world-class research facilities. There is no housing, temporary living, or relocation allowance offered by the company, and this is not a remote work opportunity.

Work for this position will start in early May 2023 and last through late August 2023.

What We Do

Based in the State College, Pennsylvania area, Cignal is a growing tech startup and the creator of the Cignal Engine, an interactive world for machine vision.

The Cignal Engine is used to train AI/ML models and intelligent agents to play games - except the games these software agents play involve the detection of firearms, explosives, and other dangerous items in baggage/cargo and on people.

What You'll Do

In this position, you'll work directly with our small team to design and deploy volumetric digital assets and inventory that are loaded in Cignal Engine. You'll also assist with the organization and integration of various materials and 3D objects into the engine's simulated environment. All the work you do will help train people and AI systems to keep transportation systems safe.

What We're Looking For

• C/C++ development experience (C# okay, but not preferred)
• Strong interest in gaming technology, 3D modeling, or digital twins
• Strong math skills
• Creativity in problem-solving ability

Nice to Have

• Experience with other engines, like Unreal Engine or Unity
• Shader development experience
• Blender familiarity
• Familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras

Pay and Other Considerations

The expected hourly base pay for this position in the State College, Pennsylvania, area is $25.00/hour USD. Compensation may vary based on factors, including (but not limited to) competencies and skills, knowledge, qualifications, and experience.
