Posted: April 12, 2023 Closed: Open until filledEmployment Opportunity: Extended School Year Special EducationPOSITION: Structured Reading Tutor (Multiple)July 5, 2023-August 10, 2023 Monday-ThursdayShrewsbury Public Schools is currently accepting applications for part-time or full-time Structured Reading Tutors. The Structured Reading Tutors will provide reading instruction to students in Grades K-12 across a six-week period this summer. This collaborative role is working with a team of teachers and paraprofessionals to provide the needed support. This reading instruction will occur during the childs summer programming day, or to be scheduled for walk-in services.

The direct services will be delivered in a small group format in a separate setting. Expertise in the areas of specific reading programs are ideal.Hours are from 7:30am-2:30pm, with an additional 30-minute prep time, or flexible hours. The position will be paid at the candidates structured reading tutor rate during the regular school year, or $45 per hour, whichever is higher.Candidates with diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, religious, class, and/or gender background and experiences are strongly encouraged to apply.Preferred: Certification in one or more structured reading programsAble to support students from Kindergarten through Grade 12Exhibits the core values of Shrewsbury Public SchoolsWorks flexibly in a changing environmentApplication Process: Interested external candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, unofficial copies of undergraduate/graduate transcripts, license # or unofficial copy of license if applicable, and three current professional letters of reference, including one from a direct supervisor or evaluator.
