Job Coaches provide direct support for clients with developmental and physical disabilities. Job Coaches ensure clients are continually being supported toward the goal of gaining independence by being in the workforce and working a competitive pay job..They work part-time hours, Monday thru Friday from 8am until 1pm and earn $18.00 an hour.
This a temporary seasonal summer position
These job coaches will support the Summer Work Experience program (SWE/SWEP). This program is expected to begin in June 5,2023 and will conclude in late July of 2023 lasting 6 - 8 weeks, 20 hours/week. It is Monday-Friday during the day. This is an opportunity to have UCP Heartland on your resume. We will give you all the tools you need to be successful with supporting these individuals be successful.

Essential Job Functions:
  • . • Support 2-5 participants/employees as they learn job skills
    • Be present at the job site every day the students are at work. Must arrive fifteen minutes early to the job site each day to ensure students arrive and know where they are expected to report to work.
  • Must also stay at the job site every day until each student is picked up to go home with a responsible party unless an advance release is signed by the parent or guardian.
    • Work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
    • Support the work site supervisor as needed in working with the students and providing instruction
  • • Must have readily available reliable transportation. • Obtain, maintain and provide evidence of vehicle insurance that minimally meets the requirements of the State of Missouri. • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Employment Standards:
  • Preferred, but hey, everyone has to start somewhere!: You may have what we need and we can train you
  • One-year experience or training in working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organization, time management and planning skills.
  • Strong public relations and customer service skills to work appropriately with employers and the general public.
  • Needs to have sensitivity to the employment needs of students with developmental disabilities and the ability to support these students as they make the transition to the work world.
