JOB PURPOSE:

Plan, organize, supervise and participate in the operations and activities of the CDC; train, assign, supervise and evaluate assigned staff.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position has supervisory responsibility for the warehouse associates.
  • This job operates in a professional warehouse environment with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D), or 2-4 years of related warehouse experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE NEEDED: 3 years


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, associate degree preferred; a minimum of three years of experience in warehouse supervision; or Equivalent combination of Education and Experience.


SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Warehousing and stock control methods and procedures.
  • Methods of receiving, inspecting and issuing materials.
  • Materials, equipment and supplies used in an electrical distribution warehouse.
  • Operation of a forklift and other assigned vehicles and equipment.
  • Warehouse operations, procedures, equipment, and terminology.
  • Space utilization and inventory techniques.
  • Proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Health and safety regulations.
  • Record-keeping techniques.
  • Inventory methods and practices.
  • Principles and practices of training and providing work direction.
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
  • Plan, organize, supervise, and participate in the operations and activities of the Warehouse.
  • Train, supervise and evaluate personnel.
  • Utilize space efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintain inventory.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Learn to operate a computer terminal and warehouse-related software.
  • Work independently with little direction.
  • Observe health and safety regulations.
  • Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Work overtime when needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to bend, stoop, lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, unassisted.
  • Stand and walk continuously throughout an 8-hour shift (up to 100% of the time).
  • Climb ladders safely, work in dusty and dirty conditions; handle and store hazardous materials; clean and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK LOCATION: Onsite


PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

The typical environment for this position is in a warehouse. Additional work environments may occasionally include offices, light industrial, commercial, utility and manufacturing. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Will include outdoor work exposed to elements and non-conditioned warehouse spaces.
