Job description
- 3+ years of relevant experience in industry and/or academia.
- 3+ years of experience in a buyer, planner and/or material scheduler role working for a direct manufacturer
- 3+ years experience with procurement systems and financial applications
- 3+ years experience in forecasting, MRP, transportation, supply chain, inventory management and warehousing disciplines

The Kuiper team is looking for a Buyer role to support the Mechanical Sourcing Team. This roles primary responsibilities are executing requests for quotes, placing purchase orders with suppliers for the procurement of direct material requirements, interacting/coordinating with suppliers on a variety of topics ensuring compliance and supporting other business functions as required.

Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate has experience working on supply chain applications, analytical abilities, and fantastic written and verbal communication skills. They will have a great bias towards decision making, a disciplined attention to detail, and be comfortable with ambiguity and juggling multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

- Send out solicitations for requests for quotes
- Compile and document supplier quotes into supply chain database
- Enter into and issue purchase orders through MRP system
- Monitor and document status of open orders to ensure on-time delivery of materials and services
- Expedite purchase order line items with suppliers as required to support changes in program schedule
- Reconcile receipt and payment issues to ensure timely processing of supplier invoices
- Manage returns to suppliers including system reconciliation of replacement materials
- Perform job responsibilities in line with internal company policies and procedures
- Transmit marked technical data in compliance with applicable FAR, DFARS, ITAR and EAR requirements

The base pay for this position ranges from $63,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $153,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
