Survey CAD Technician

Location: Englewood, CO

Job Type: Full-time

Starting pay: $25-$30/hr

Job Summary:

The Survey Technician will be responsible for supporting our Registered Professional Surveyors by assisting with CAD productions, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparations, legal descriptions, and computing survey points. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of experience in a Survey Technician role and will be knowledgeable in ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of easement documents, legal descriptions, final plat preparation, and construction staking.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Registered Professional Surveyors with various tasks including CAD productions, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparations, legal descriptions, and computing survey points
  • Process raw field data through Trimble Business Center
  • Perform QA/QC checks to ensure accuracy of survey data
  • Coordinate and work with field crews and other office staff
  • Operate survey field equipment
  • Utilize Trimble Business Center and Trimble Data Center
  • Operate AutoCAD Civil 3D for production activities
  • Manage multiple tasks, project coordination, and interaction with other design services
  • Use Microsoft Office to create and organize project documents
  • Perform in a fast-paced environment that is in a growth mode
  • Have strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of land surveying experience in a Survey Technician role
  • SIT registration, or in the final process of obtaining an SIT registration, is preferred
  • Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, preparation of easement documents, legal descriptions, final plat preparation, and construction staking
  • Proficient in Trimble Business Center and Trimble Data Center
  • Ability to operate AutoCAD Civil 3D for production activities
  • Full use of Microsoft Office
  • Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
