T&T Supermarket Inc., Canada’s largest Asian grocery chain, headquartered in Vancouver, BC, is now HIRING! A small sourcing office in Los Angeles will be set up to grow T&T’s vendor base with American food suppliers.

Headquartered in Richmond, BC, T&T Supermarkets is the largest Asian supermarket chain in Canada, operating stores in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec. The stores feature an expansive variety of fresh produce, meat, seafood, Asian packaged goods, trendy kitchenware and gifts, as well as in-store kitchens and bakeries. The Role:

Reporting to the IT Manager – Business Engagement, the Technical System Integrator is responsible for linking component subsystems into a single integrated solution, executing tasks such as acquiring subsystems, analyzing information technology needs, and developing an in-house solution to ensure all components work together as a coherent unit. This position also reports to the Senior IT Manager, Technology Enablement.

1. Participate in designing and developing integration schemes and creating links for multi-platform, multi-vendor business solutions.

2. Identify technology related opportunities and integrates IT resources to fulfill project requirements.

3. Develops solution by ensuring system software, applications, hardware and workflows work together seamlessly to support the business.

4. Understand architectural standards, gathers project requirements and controls for platform and application integration.

5. Manage multiple suppliers and vendors, both internal and external, on the integration of diverse technologies. Communicate with external and internal parties to ensure project going smoothly.

6. System and Technology Integration – Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems, and the ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.

7. Systems Software architecture – Knowledge of software technology, and the ability to plan global, regional and local software architecture and infrastructure components.

8. Hardware Infrastructure – Knowledge of and the ability to design, implement and integrate IT hardware for its use in business environments.

9. Requirements Analysis – Knowledge of methods and techniques to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements; ability to analyze these requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.

10. Negotiating – Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner.

11. Problem Solving – Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

12. Comprehensive technical skills in software development as well as problem solving skills to succeed as a system integrator.

13. Products and Services – Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

14. Ensure regulatory requirements are addressed in the solution.

Major Responsibilities:

Given moderate to minimal direction, the successful candidate should be able to perform the following tasks and duties:

1. Evaluate and analyze assigned functional area related processes, procedures and workflow to determine the feasibility of different technology options and solutions to meet their requirements.

2. Research, tests and evaluates software applications and upgrades. Implement the installation and upgrades to the systems.

3. Perform in system analysis, computer configuration, planning and training of employees on the assigned functional area's automated systems to ensure optimal performance of the systems.

4. Resolve technical and operational problems for users in their assigned functional area.

5. Understand and practice the importance of maintaining the security of sensitive or confidential data.

6. Provide technical support, including budget projections, for the assigned functional area in determining current and future software and hardware needs.

7. Research and present to the assigned functional area new software applications and technology solutions based on company and industry standards.

8. Document technical procedures and related forms to guarantee that knowledge of important technical processes and assigned functional area related application software is passed on to future assigned functional area related Integrators.

9. Devise a testing plan, strategy and scenarios, and documenting the process.

10. Serve as a liaison to Information Technology in maintaining inventory of technology and assists Information Technology software rollouts, hardware replacement and repair and software installations.

Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Science (or related field) or equivalent job experience.

2. Minimum 5 years as Technical System Integrator with the experience directly working on computer-based information systems' hardware, software, networks, wireless systems, systems analysis, and integration.

3. Proficiency in the Operating Systems: Windows; some basic understanding of a UNIX based OS, Mac OS, and the administration.

4. Experience in implementing access control models using directory services.

5. Experience with current Microsoft desktop operating system software to include MS Office 365, Microsoft Office products and other relevant technologies.

6. Solid understanding of computer software and hardware, networks and wireless systems. Computer and network safeguards, as well as proper IT security procedures.

7. Utilizes programming languages to troubleshoot and revises the software application to meet the specific business needs of the assigned functional area.

8. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, under the scope of responsibility.

9. Describe in detail each of the steps needed in the solution of problems and arranges these steps in a logical sequence.

10. Work collaboratively with users, technicians, and IT business partners.

11. Work independently and in a team environment.

12. Excellent critical and creative thinking and analytical skills.

13. Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, trouble-shoot, and to meet short and long term deadlines

14. Multitask and prioritize workload and assignments.

15. Make independent actions or decisions on technical issues.

16. Open and willing to learn new things; prefers to be self-directed and to work with small teams rather than large, rigid organizations.

18. Performs other duties as assigned.

19. Willing and able to travel in West Coast/US and Canada (50%).
