About this role:
As a member of the Development and Marketing Team, KDC’s Technical Grant Writer helps to ensure organizational stability through effective and compelling written proposals that accurately represent a wide range of human services programs. This position will assist in the acquisition and/or renewal of all state contracts issued by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS). In addition, the Technical Grant Writer researches and responds to private funding opportunities for donated support to expand program budgets and increase fundraising revenues. This position reports to the Vice President of Development and Marketing.

In this role, you’ll get to:
- Supports in gathering of information and writing aspects of the RFR (Request for Response) process for EOHHS-issued state contracts, which allow KDC to continue operating its 16+ programs within all divisions. Specifically, you must be skilled in leveraging internal stakeholders, adhere to detailed schedules and timelines created by the Director of Quality and Compliance, hold key players accountable, and meet strict deadlines.
- Create compelling and competitive written applications/proposals that demonstrate ability to comprehend and distill (oftentimes new) information to effectively address questions/prompts.
- Foster internal partnerships and bring together project-specific key players to develop compelling and strategic case(s) for support.
- Adhere to detailed schedule to ensure that all contracts and funding opportunities are addressed/responded to in a timely manner.
- Develop a keen understanding of KDC’s diverse array of programs.
- Proactively seek new funding opportunities that align with KDC mission and program objectives.
We are looking for people who have:
- Bachelor’s Degree or comparable experience, EOHHS knowledge a plus
- Excellent writing skills with 3+ years of formal writing experience
- Process oriented
- Detail oriented
- Understanding of human services, preferable
- Strong communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to multitask and advance several projects at once
- Strategic thinker
- Team player
- Familiarity with writing proposals for state contracts and Commbuys the state contracting system a plus
