Job description:
- Advanced knowledge in locating and diagnosing trouble in Breton systems or equipment working from blue prints, drawings, layouts or other specifications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and rebuild Breton calibrating, polishing, and Vibro-Press equipment.
- Fabricate and machine simple components; modify off the shelf parts to complete finished assemblies.
- Approaches all responsibilities with the mindset that ensures safety is built into every process task, factoring ergonomics, environmental and hazard elimination into the work steps of the team and themselves.
- Increases overall product quality and integrity while ensuring that process and product waste are driven to elimination.
- Assemble, maintain, test, repair and troubleshoot existing products.
- Operate Milling Machines, Lathes, Band Saws, & Other Machine Shop Tools.
- Construct prototypes and small run production systems.
- Reviews respective area for opportunities to drive productivity and reduce costs within the organization, and communicates the proposed solution for improvement.
- Informs supervisor of operational status of equipment and notifies of any problem areas.
- Follows LOTO procedures, JHA’s, and Standard Operating Procedures as well as looks for continuous improvement in the process task.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Keeps work area safe, clean and organized.
Education and Knowledge
- Ability to accomplish objectives in the most efficient and economical manner
- Ability to become an integral member within the Engineering / R&D Department
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant job experience
- 5+ years hands on quartz experience required

- May be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance.
