Child Welfare Project Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing projects related to the welfare and wellbeing of children.


Role and Responsibilities
  • Planning and executing child welfare projects : The project manager will be responsible for developing project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensuring that projects are executed effectively and efficiently.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders: The project manager will work with various stakeholders, including government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community groups, to ensure that project goals are aligned with the needs of children and families.
  • Monitoring project progress: The project manager will be responsible for monitoring project progress, tracking key performance indicators, and making adjustments as needed to ensure that projects stay on track and meet their objectives.
  • Managing project resources : The project manager will be responsible for managing project resources, including staffing, equipment, and funding, to ensure that projects are completed within budget and on time.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations: The project manager will need to ensure that all projects comply with local and national regulations related to child welfare and that all activities are conducted in an ethical and responsible manner.
  • Evaluating project outcomes : The project manager will need to evaluate the outcomes of child welfare projects, determine their impact, and make recommendations for future projects based on their findings.
  • Overall, the project manager with child welfare will play a critical role in ensuring that projects related to the welfare of children are planned, executed, and evaluated effectively, and that they have a positive impact on the lives of children and families.

Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • At least ten years of medium to large-scale project experience in a project management or similar role
  • At least ten years of strong experience with project planning, resource planning, work plan development, and project management processes
  • Project Management: You should have excellent project management skills to plan, organize, and execute child welfare projects. This includes developing project plans, defining objectives, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring that project outcomes are achieved.
  • Communication: You should be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing, to effectively communicate project plans, objectives, and outcomes to all stakeholders, including funders, project team members, and the public.
  • Leadership: You should be a skilled leader to effectively manage and motivate project teams to achieve project goals. This includes setting direction, delegating tasks, providing guidance and support, and resolving conflicts.
  • Collaboration: You should have the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including government officials, community organizations, and families, to achieve project outcomes.
  • Child Welfare Knowledge: You should have knowledge of child welfare policies and procedures, child protection laws, and best practices in child welfare.
  • Problem-solving: You should be able to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions that meet project objectives.
  • Critical Thinking: You should be able to evaluate information, identify patterns, and make sound decisions.
  • Data Analysis: You should be able to collect, analyze, and interpret data to monitor project progress and evaluate project outcomes.
  • Flexibility: You should be flexible and adaptable to changing project requirements, timelines, and budgets.
  • Technology: You should be proficient in project management software, data analysis tools, and other technologies used in project management.

Preferred Qualification
  • PMP certification
  • Agile certification
  • Demonstrated prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects. SPC, PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent.
  • Experience working within, or assisting, public health agencies.
  • Organizational change management, Prosci certified.
  • SAFe certification, strongly preferred.
