Job Title: Technician

Location: Latrobe, PA


Job Summary and Mission:


This primary focus of this position will be on supporting the Technology R&D of additive manufacturing processes for qualified material and development of scalable processes for Manufacturing. The Technician will work under the direction of the Technology Staff Engineer. This position will also support the production of customer parts and programs as needed using the additive process to support the manufacturing pilot operations.


Key Job Responsibilities:


  • Operation of additive printing equipment (Binder Jet and Powder Bed Fusion).
  • Curing and de-powdering as needed as well as additional post print processing prior to sintering.
  • Operation of sintering furnaces.
  • Provide assistance in material characterization and inspection, material testing, metallography, microscopes, and other instrumentation.
  • Provide on-site troubleshooting for printers and furnace equipment.
  • Assist other technicians and R&D personnel as required.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Follow all EHS regulations.
  • Follow company procedures and policies.
  • Support quality policy and directives.
  • Detailed and thorough documentation of all work performed in a notebook or on the computer.


Experience:


  • Associate degree in mechanical, industrial, electrical preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Detail Oriented – Electrical and mechanical trouble shooting capability
  • Operating industrial metal additive manufacturing equipment
  • Operating industrial sintering equipment- troubleshooting is a plus
  • Operating mechanical testing equipment
  • Team oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Microsoft Word and excel.
  • Computer savvy
  • Familiarity with CNC machining and programming is a plus.
