Tech Position Description
Technology Teacher must be able to co-teach with Librarian
  • Plan, develop, and evaluate lessons for basic computer, keyboard, internet skills, and
coding to students in Kindergarten through Grade 8
  • Develop lessons that include differentiation techniques; such as, Google Voice Typing
  • Integrate the core content objectives in lessons as much as possible
  • Teach internet safety including personal responsibility for technology use – Digital
Citizenship. Emphasize to students that they are responsible for caring and maintaining
their Chromebooks.
  • Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity
  • Assist students in connecting to technological principles in the real world
  • Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, projects, etc. (Assess & Comment)
  • Maintain and supervise equipment: Chromebooks, and iPads.
  • Administer Computer Software: Type to Learn, would not renew, but a typing program is
necessary for iPad and computer use.
IT part of position:
  • Google App & Chrome Browser Administrator – Google Workspace for Education
  • Google does have online Administrator Courses & Certifications for Google Workspace
for Education
  • Add and delete Users in Google Workspace for Education
  • Reset passwords when necessary
  • Block sites deemed unacceptable by Administration
  • Find solutions to Google Education Blocked Sites for Teachers
  • Network Liaison with Jerry Adams who programs and troubleshoots the school network.
  • Liaison with Catholic TV who provides us with Hotspots and Computers (currently 10)
  • Delete graduated students & students who have left the school from Google.
  • Set up emails for new staff members in Addition Networks and Google Workspace

Chromebook Administrator – Student Chromebooks
  • Keep a detailed inventory of student Chromebooks. Maintain them, reset them, prepare
them for redistribution
  • Repair broken Chromebooks if possible or bring them to be repaired. Currently using the
Computer Store, Saugus Center – 978-531-6600=
  • Maintain the Chromebook carts and make sure they are ready for MAP testing
iPad Administrator
  • Maintain iPad Carts, making sure iPads are updated and cleaned
  • Check for updates, making sure there is enough storage to implement the update
  • Make sure they are ready & charged for MAP Testing
  • Manage iPads through Meraki Systems by setting up profiles and managing apps
  • Manage Certificates for Meraki through Apple School Manager
MAP Testing
  • Set up schedule for testing
  • Work with classroom teachers to set up Tests for students
  • Troubleshoot errors and connection problems
GoGuardian Administrator
  • Add and delete staff as Users in GoGuardian
  • Students are automatically enrolled through the Google Platform under the Student
Organization
  • Help Teachers with the setup of their classes
  • Block sites & games for student access
  • Monitor Flagged Activities by students and, when necessary, report to Administration
  • Add or delete missing Chromebooks to the Theft Recovery Section of GoGuardian
