Highland Hospital is seeking a switchboard console operator for incoming main line to Highland Hospital. Answer and direct all incoming calls.
Essential job duties include:

- Operate Amtelco automated answering telephone system, receiving all internal and external calls for Highland Hospital and Patient Information, as well as internal operator calls in a pleasant, helpful and professional manner.
- Direct all calls to the appropriate patient, department or staff member as quickly & efficiently as possible.
- Monitor and manage all system alarms, including fire alarms, panic alarms, door alarms, gates & intercoms.
- Manage and operate overhead paging system as needed.
- Using pager vendor, swap broken pagers for staff members as necessary.
- Monitor and dispatch via two-way radio as necessary.
- Organize and fax Emergency Department material as necessary.
