Who We Are

Professor Minhyea Lee’s group is located in the Duane Physics E2B level.

We are the experimental condense matter physicists and working on uncover new phenomena and novel physics in electronic and spin systems. We perform our “tests” under extreme conditions, such as low temperature, high magnetic field, high pressure and in-plane stain and many knobs Nature allows.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Rare-earth delafossite since crystal synthesis and characterizations of thermodynamic properties.
  • General managements of the associated experimental equipment.

What You Should Know

This is a summer temporary researcher position at experimental condensed matter physics; starting as soon as possible and ending August 18, 2023.

What We Can Offer

This 20 hour/ wk position and pay range is $17-18/ hour depending on the level of the candidate’s prior experiences.

Benefits

Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

What You Will Need

  • Rare earth delafossite compounds synthesis and their magnetic properties measurement experiences are required.
  • At least consecutive 12 months of working experience at a condensed matter physics research lab.
  • Proficiency with general lab safety and basic equipment operation (Glovebox, high temperature synthesis furnaces etc).
  • Knowledge of thermodynamic quantities and their measurements techniques.
  • Knowledge on solid state physics and statistical mechanics.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • At least 18 months of experiences working at the condensed matter physics lab.
