WellStone is North Alabama’s most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13,000 persons a year in Huntsville and Cullman. We are a non-profit community organization that offers a wide range of services for every phase of life, from children to older adults.
We are hiring for a Triage Supervisor - Full time.
Shifts available: M-F, 8am to 5pm (also serves as back-up for rolling phone tree for incoming calls after 5pm, and weekend calls, as needed).
In our 24/7 WellStone Emergency Services (WES), the Triage Supervisor provides training, oversight and supervision for Intake Assistants and Triage Therapists who are the first to assess the crisis clients and navigate their initial treatment plan.
What we're looking for-
- Master’s degree in a mental health discipline
- Knowledge of working with a broad scope of cliental from varying demographic backgrounds and cultures
- At least 2 years experience with population preferred
- Knowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention and interventions common to acute psychotic clients, as well as, to non-violent crisis intervention practice
- Knowledge of educational methods appropriate to adults with severe and persistent psychiatric disorders
- Driver’s License valid in AL and good MVR
- Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
- Excellent timeframe management, multi-tasking skills
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
What you'll be doing:
- Accept supervision and carry out assigned tasks from the WES Director in a timely manner. Communicate on a regular basis and provide information pertinent to the intake and triage services provided to the clients at WES.
- Manage workflow and streamline processes to ensure the clients receive cohesive services throughout WellStone.
- Provides training and supervision for Intake Assistants and Triage Therapists who are responsible for assisting and completing screening criteria for admission for persons transitioning into the Wellstone Emergency Services unit.
- Prepare and monitor work schedules for Intake Assistants, Triage Therapists and Contract Staff, and approve timesheets.
- Monitor the phone system
- Ensure appropriate screening by Intake Assistants is completed.
- Oversee the Emergency Services Program according to State standards.
- Ensure compliance with external administrative and clinical standards of care and applicable laws, including DMH, Medicaid, and State & Federal laws.
- Attend, participate in Daily Treatment Team Meetings, and communicate the status of intake and triage activities for individuals in crisis.
- Other duties as assigned by the WES leadership team, Chief Clinical Officer or as directed by the CEO.
