Pay: $100,000 - $125,000 per year + $7,500 Sign-on Bonus + $4,000 Referral Bonus

Schedule: Ability to make your own schedule, Monday through Friday regional (occasional emergency calls)

Job Description:

Messer is looking for a safety conscious Class B delivery driver with technical skills such as mechanic, hvac, electrical, etc. with exceptional customer service skills to deliver cryogenic gases to medical facilities through their designated region.

As a driver tech, you will have the ability to make your own schedule by coordinating your own deliveries with the medical facility directly. Our driver techs utilize a company-specific database to monitor the current fill level of customer’s machines.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport and deliver Messer products (Helium and Nitrogen).
  • Schedule, load, deliver, and fill liquid helium into MRI magnets to keep them super-conductive.
  • Monitor accounts in an assigned geographic delivery area to ensure they are kept at a safe level of liquid helium.
  • Analyze trends in CMS level readings to determine if a customer's magnet may have a problem requiring early scheduling.
  • Develop and execute efficient delivery schedules and routes based on level readings, customer availability and lowest possible cost.
  • Coordinate with the Messer Helium Customer Service Team to place advanced helium orders that will meet the predetermined schedule.
  • Load, transport, deliver, and fill liquid helium into MRI Units by following Messer's procedures including following relevant manufacturer procedures and guidance from Messer Lead ColdServe Technicians.
  • Perform call-out service as required, including evening and weekend coverage, to support emergent fill requirements.
  • Transport and deliver hazardous materials (Helium & Nitrogen) in wheeled dewars weighing up to 700 lbs.
  • Successfully complete specialized Messer and OEM-provided training and demonstrate the skills necessary to safely transfer liquid helium.
  • Follow ALL Messer Safety Policies including but not limited to proper PPE, proper lifting techniques, and other safety requirements.
  • Maintain a neat, clean and professional personal appearance and maintain vehicle appearance reflective of Messer’s high standards.
  • Safely drive a box truck and/or tractor-trailer combination loaded with compressed gas cylinders and liquid helium dewars for delivery to customers on a scheduled route.
  • Work in accordance with all DOT and Messer standards and policies including but not limited to Speed Management, Seat Belts, In Cab Communication, Cones and Hours of Service.
  • Manage DOT Hours of Service using an on-board electronic logging device (ELD).
  • Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, document deficiencies and ensure all safety items are in good working order.
  • Report to work properly rested and ensure rest breaks prevent fatigue.
  • Establish and maintain excellent customer service.
  • Resolve service inquiries and complaints/issues with assistance from other Messer resources (as required).
  • Safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Assist with inventory and general housekeeping as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year truck driving experience with a good commercial and personal driving record
  • Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker endorsement
  • Have or able to obtain Hazmat endorsement
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Willing to be out all week and home on the weekends
