Amplified Learning Center was founded in 2013, kicking off its first school year in the Mountain Island Lake area of Charlotte, NC. It has served hundreds of students ranging from Kindergarteners to first year college students in the areas of literacy, mathematics, and SAT and ACT prep. In 2020, Amplified Learning Center transitioned to a virtual learning platform.
We are looking for a Tutor to provide non-classroom, virtual academic instruction to students in small groups for enrichment or remediation purposes. For this role, a strong Internet connection is required, along with experience using communication tools like Zoom. Ultimately, you should be able to handle administrative tasks and deliver high-quality work under minimum supervision.
General Responsibilities
- Provide private instruction to groups of students to improve academic performance, or prepare for academic assessments.
- Teach students study skills, note-taking skills, and test-taking strategies.
- Assess students' progress throughout tutoring sessions.
- Communicate progress to students, parents or teachers in electronic progress reports, by video conference, by phone, or by email.
- Collaborate with students, parents, teachers, school administrators, or counselors to determine student needs, develop tutoring plans, and assess student progress.
- Identify, develop, or implement intervention strategies, tutoring plans, or individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Implement teaching or training materials, such as handouts, study materials, or quizzes.
- Maintain records of students' assessment results, progress, feedback, or school performance, ensuring confidentiality of all records.
- Implement lesson plans or learning modules for tutoring sessions according to students' needs and goals.
- Meet weekly to receive training and materials for upcoming tutoring sessions.

Job Qualifications
- Certified Teacher, or
- First, Second, or Third Year Education Major in a 2 or 4 year college or university
- Experience: At least 2 years as an instructor working with children or equivalent combination of education and experience.
