Position Summary:
The North American Utilities Engineer is an salaried exempt position based in various potential locations in North America. This role reports to the North American Utilities Manager and is responsible for analyzing operational failure/underperformance, identifying efficiency opportunities, and aligning solutions for boilerhouse/powerhouse locations within the United States and Canada. This position is part of our Center of Excellence CoE - Utilities department.

This role reports to the North American Utilities Manager and is responsible for analyzing operational failure/underperformance, identifying efficiency opportunities, and aligning solutions for boilerhouse/powerhouse locations within the United States and Canada. This position is part of our Center of Excellence CoE - Utilities department.
Essential Job Functions:
- Drive compliance with ADM safety, health, quality, and environmental programs and policies
- Foster regional boiler process improvement initiatives.
- Provide opportunities for continuous improvement projects within the Wave pipeline contributing to our run rate goals and objectives.
- Drive achievement of ADM (Strive 35) sustainability goals (energy/carbon improvements).
- Engage/research/develop, industry boiler and turbine technologies and resources for targeted deployment, that improve efficiency and increase optimization.
- Support achievement of utility related OEE and run-rate savings KPI.
- Participate as SME during capital project development, equipment selection and design review processes.
- Support regional and business unit strategies for utility operation – reliability, efficiency and KPI achievement.
- Coordinate and collaborate with multiple disciplines and various levels of management. (RCM, CAPEX, Automation, Tech CoEs and Internally within UCoE - Water/Energy/Electrical).
- BS Engineering in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or equivalent.
- Master’s degree (either MBA or Engineering) is a plus.
- Direct experience with boilers, turbines, chillers, cooling towers, and feedwater makeup chemistry.
- Financial valuation experience rationalizing and evaluating capital investments.
- Familiarity with technical aspects of renewable energy generation systems.
- Experience in ADM PE, FEL, and WAVE systems preferred.
- Personally committed to working safely and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Continuous process improvement mindset driving best practices and reliability.
- Excellent written/verbal communication and positive interpersonal skills.
- Task oriented and self-motivated, able to function without direct supervision.
- Work effectively as part of team or independently.
- Well-developed independent judgment and problem solving.
- Excellent organizational skills, able to effectively handle multiple ongoing tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to drive development and compliance with SOP’s and safe work practices.
- Demonstrated ability to explain and drive compliance with jurisdictional code requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize, assess, and provide opportunities for boiler efficiency and optimization.
- Perform overnight travel (25%.)
