TOWN OF THURMONT

WASTEWATER PLANT OPERATOR OR TRAINEE

Job Description: General cleaning and painting of tanks, buildings, and equipment located throughout the wastewater treatment plant. Maintenance and repair of plant equipment, pumping stations, and collection system cleaning and repairs. Perform some wastewater sample collection and lab testing. Assisting other public works departments as required. Some weekend work and overtime required.

Job Requirements: Class B CDL or the ability to obtain one within twenty-four (24) months after employment; ability to work outside in all weather conditions; ability to read, write, and understand information obtained from samples and observations, have the ability to learn process control of the wastewater treatment plant and related equipment. Must obtain a Class 5A
Wastewater License within three (3) years after employment. Preference may be given for municipal wastewater system experience but is not required. Trainee’s will also be considered.
