DIVISION OVERVIEW
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for the daily operation of the industrial wastewater treatment for the plant and any associated maintenance and lab work
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates and maintains wastewater treatment, sludge processing, and handling equipment
- Collects samples and makes routing chemical analyses of wastewater at various points in the plant process
- Cleans intake wells and drying beds, using chemicals and detergents
- Reads and interprets charts, flow meters, and other gauges to determine operating efficiency
- Prepares the chemicals required for the testing and treatment of wastewater
- Maintains logs, records, and reports relative to the work
- Production of bed material and Zinksil material for MOV block manufacturing process
- Check and fill forklift and walkie batteries
- Disposal of waste from collar booth processing
- 5S of water treatment area and support cleaning on production floor as needed
- Frequent use of a variety of hand tools
- Other duties may be assigned
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be a self-starter and comfortable with working independently
- Flexibility for Saturdays and mandatory OT
- Attention to time management and accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively when issues arise
- Must be able to wear a respirator and pass a pulmonary function test
- Ability to read and write in English, as well as perform basic math skills with attention to detail
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Must have reliable transportation
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. on an infrequent basis.
- Ability to perform work in hot, humid, dry, dusty, rainy and cold conditions, both inside and outside
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk, sit, lift, carry, push/pull, kneel, climb stairs, and squat, variously throughout the shift
TRAINING AND EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED
- Training is provided for position; however previous wastewater treatment experience is highly preferred
- Possession of wastewater treatment certification is highly preferred
- Obtain driver certification for walkies, stand-up and sit-down forklifts and Drexyl
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
