The Integrated Water Management (IWM) Group is looking for an experienced Water Resource Engineer in Seattle, WA to assist our project managers in delivering projects across the West.
As a Water Resource Engineer, you will have the opportunity to focus on different areas of water resources including, hydrology and hydraulics, stream restoration, stormwater, flood management, hydrogeology, GIS analyses, design plans, specification writing and construction cost estimating.
We are seeking a self-motivated and active professional interested in working with different project managers to deliver stormwater, groundwater, flood management and water resources planning projects. The successful candidate will have experience in hydraulics and hydrology, monitoring, engineering research, report writing, GIS analyses, alternatives analyses, and cost estimating.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serving as task manager, maintaining task/project budgets and schedules
- Preparing technical reports
- Analyzing different types of groundwater, climate, surface water, stormwater and water quality data
- Developing plans, specifications and cost estimates (PS&E)
- Conducting field work and collecting data related to sampling and construction observations, as needed
The ideal candidate would have the following experience/skill set:
- Interest in groundwater, stormwater, and water resources management
- Experience with engineering and design of water resources related projects
- Experience in developing project scope, schedule, and budget
- Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously; and have strong organizational, problem solving, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Experience preparing PS&E packages
- Strong technical writing skills; Grant and proposal writing experience, a plus
- Expertise using Microsoft Excel and other relevant software
- Experience with different surface water and stormwater modeling platforms: HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-SSP, EPA-SWMM, a plus.
- Proven skills in GIS applications and AutoCAD experience, a plus
- Professional Engineer license in California or Fundamentals in Engineering with plan to take PE license
- Client management experience, a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities to work both within a team and independently
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new software programs
- Ability to complete occasional field work requirements including sampling and construction observations
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s and/or Master's degree in Engineering (Civil or Environmental preferred)
- 3-7 years of experience

Salary Range: $79,000-$118,000
Benefits:
- 401K - Employees are eligible to participate on the first day of the month following 3 months of service
- Paid time off – Our PTO benefit is designed to provide eligible employees with a period of rest and relaxation, sick, and personal time throughout the year. PTO starts at 16 days per year and increases with years of service
- Holiday Pay - Holiday pay is provided for eligible employees. GHD observes 9 holidays per year. Holiday pay will be based on the regular set schedule for the employee
- Wellness Benefit- Regular full-term employees are eligible to participate in the wellness reimbursement program. GHD will reimburse 50% of the cost of the following to maximum of $250.00 reimbursement annually for such items as: Health club membership fees, Home exercise equipment purchases, Bicycles, Race, run & marathon entrance fees, Smoking cessation programs, Weight loss programs (i.e.—Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig), Fitbits and Fitness Tracking devices
