Nissley Vineyards is a family-owned winery and vineyard that has been producing wine in Lancaster County since 1978. We are seeking a passionate, professional, sales-driven individual who will enthusiastically showcase our wine to customers in a retail setting. The ideal candidate is an outgoing leader who is not afraid to engage with newcomers in the wine shop.

The Tasting Room Assistant Manager is a full-time, customer-focused position responsible for developing relationships with customers through promoting Nissley wine and making recommendations to customers. In addition, the Tasting Room Assistant Manager will help lead the rest of the sales team to success; training and guiding new staff as well as assisting with the management within the Peddler’s Village Tasting Room. The Tasting Room Assistant Manager will work closely with the General Manager to maintain best practices in the wine shop. This position requires working nights and weekends.

• Ensure best practices in sales and customer service are carried out by all staff.
• Supervise and train Peddler’s Village staff in conjunction with General Manager.
• Conduct wine tastings and provide guidance based on customer feedback.
• Communicate to all guests in a knowledgeable and professional manner. Share information about Nissley Vineyards.
• Promote our wines and events with the intent to establish long-term customer relationships.
• Adhere to all R.A.M.P. House Policies and PLCB regulations.
• Understand and follow all shift opening and closing procedures.
• Accurately operate POS System to transact sales and maintain tasting room inventory.
• Ensure cleanliness and aesthetics of the tasting room, and all areas relative to the tasting room.
• Maintain physical inventory of merchandise items and restock wine in tasting room as needed. Including monthly physical inventory count
• Address customer queries and complaints.
• Receiving wine shipments and putting into stock; this require the repetitively lifting cases of wine.

• Outstanding personal presentation, communication, and customer service.
• Have an appreciation for wine and willingness to develop an understanding about all Nissley wines.
• Maintain a friendly, courteous, and engaging demeanor with customers and staff.
• Attend all staff meetings and education sessions at Peddler’s Village.
• Be point of contact for tasting room staff and external maintenance/repair companies when General Manager unavailable
• Ability to remain calm and respectful under pressure

Education and Experience:

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Wine knowledge is preferred, but not required. Training is provided.
• Must have adequate computer skills

Physical Requirements:

• Will require handling and lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $54,978.04 - $58,863.83 per year
