Reporting to Director, Reporting & Analytical Data Solutions this position will serve as a techno-functional leader to lead the design and development of data solutions, reporting products, and services across Innovative Medicines (IM) US marketing team and business functions to facilitate decision making using a continuum of technologies.

Major Accountabilities (may include but not limited to):
  • Identify and lead new business analytics and reporting needs of marketing teams within US Innovative Medicines
  • Lead communications and adoption efforts around US reporting capabilities and new releases
  • Lead decommissioning efforts and harmonization of KPIs across legacy platforms
  • Drive cross-functional efforts to improve process efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support team in building approach (e.g., systems, personnel, processes) for end-to-end Digital reporting solution.
  • Driving Training and education around the contents and use of the data presented to the Analytics/Business teams
  • Support in development of the data solutions and reporting capabilities (e.g. analytical data marts, metric/KPI libraries, viz/content delivery tools) in IM US
  • Hands-on development to build data and reporting solutions/rapid prototypes/POCs
  • Translate business requirements into design, data and specifications managing team, IT, business services and related vendors who are responsible for the development and deployment of the reports
  • Lead vendor management, governance central point of contact
  • Manage process for ad-hoc analytics and content delivery and streamline fragmented efforts
  • Proactively liaise with business stakeholders to ensure clarity and maintain governance so that data and reports remain focused on tracking leading indicators and KPIs to support business decisions
  • Support in raising the data and metric literacy of the organization
  • Responsible for maintaining knowledge management for various data and reporting as a service initiative
  • Maintain understanding of the type of analytical solutions and insights that different business functions benefit from
  • Collaborate with IT teams for infrastructure and platform needs
  • Creation of documentation, including Business Requirements, Design documents, etc.

This position will be located at the East Hanover, NJ site and will not have the ability to be located remotely.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $144,000 and $216,000 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Minimum requirements

What will you bring to the role:
  • BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, Business, or other technical degree.

  • 7+ years of experience with business data analytics
  • Professional experience in life sciences, consulting, technology with progressively increasing responsibility; strong understanding of technology, business systems
  • Excellent understanding of pharmaceutical data landscape (sales, marketing, distribution, finance, etc…) and ability to do ad-hoc analysis from data lake using SQL, Excel Snowflake, Alteryx or other tools and support digital and analytical team needs
  • Good understanding of Brand analytics measurement KPIs in a pharmaceutical industry
  • Good understanding of internal and external data sets and knowledge to leverage them for KPIs
  • Understanding of data architecture to ensure feasibility of KPI and Performance
  • Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, change management and consulting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork & collaboration skills
  • Ability to work and achieve objectives independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive approach to meeting business needs and identifying business opportunities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective project management skills, as demonstrated by on-time, on budget project delivery.
  • Experience assessing needs and resources to recommend strategic data consumption solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple high priority projects with attention to detail and execution in a timely and efficient manner
  • Established track record driving business goals and offerings through data, business intelligence, and analytics
  • Have built and led a data delivery/visual analytics team that has created a data-driven culture
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Exceptional analytical skills with ability to review and analyze significant amounts of information
  • Strong skills in managing multiple projects and ensuring a high level of responsiveness
  • Preferred: Experience working within the US Pharma industry, supporting the development of centralized data & digital reporting strategies
