The Challenge:

Are you looking to use your design skills to help create an immersive experience that tells a story and has a real-world impact? As a 3D artist, you will primarily work with our creative team to model and texture 3D assets, props, vehicles, and environments. You may also work across other aspects of the development cycle like UI design, materials generation, animation, and more. On our team, you’ll help develop artwork that plays an important role in how our clients reach mission success. We’re looking for someone like you to help us advance warfighter training and readiness.

In this role, you’ll have the chance to build your skillset and experience while collaborating with a team of experts to develop and deliver photo-realistic 3D environments, models, and textures using leading-edge software. Our team utilizes a large suite of tools and software, including Maya or 3DS Max, Zbrush, Substance Painter/Designer, and Unreal Engine. Working under general direction, you’ll help identify, design, and execute efficient approaches to various art tasks. We also support and encourage professional and artistic growth. As you progress, opportunities presented may expand your skills beyond just modeling. Our 3D artists are heavily involved throughout the entire production pipeline, including lighting, VFX, and much more. Utilizing all the tools we have available, you’ll help create training in Unreal Engine through desktop applications, augmented reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality technology.

You Have:

• Experience in creating 3D models with Maya or 3DS Max

• Experience with Substance Painter

• Experience with Unreal Engine

• Experience in working with 2D concept and reference art

• Ability to be detail-oriented and work efficiently within a production environment

• Ability to produce AAA-quality art assets

• Ability to follow existing guidelines, policies, procedures, or project parameters

• Ability to provide a portfolio

• Ability to obtain a security clearance

• Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of experience with digital art and 3D asset creation in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with Zbrush and Substance Designer

• Experience with Blueprints or UI/UX implementation in Unreal Engine

• Experience collaborating on large scenes within Unreal

• Experience with Procedural Content Creation, including Unreal Tools, Houdini, or similar

• Experience with source control, including Perforce, GitHub, PlasticSCM, or similar

• Experience with scripting in Maya, Unreal, or equivalent, including Python, C#, or C++

• Experience with creating VFX or particle systems

• Experience with animation or rigging

• Experience with modeling and development in the ArmA game series or Virtual Battlespace, including VBS2 and VBS3

• Possession of excellent oral and written communication, organizational, time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $52,200.00 to $119,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
