Your field of responsibility


  • Hands on lead for supporting Algorithmic /Darkpool/Smart order routing system
  • Proactive & reactive ready-for-systems checks
  • Proactive & reactive real-time monitoring of processes, connections & automated/latency sensitive trade flows
  • Investigation of user queries via log file and process interaction, e.g. order issues, flow breaks, booking issues
  • Notifying the business unit of system issues or failures
  • System break/fix and user recovery
  • Bringing up problems to level core development and engineering groups in a timely manner
  • Notifying Compliance in a timely manner of regulatory issues and respond to queries from audit and COO’s
  • Liaison with the operation's department and controllers where appropriate
  • Working closely with regional counterparts to build and leverage tools and standardize monitoring procedures
  • Weekend on call rotation to handle out of hours critical issues and/or Significant Market or Internal Events taking place

Platform Engineering support team is made up individual which manages the equities high-volume low latency automated trading. Partnership and system understanding is key to success. IT intensive and requires know how of automation techniques.

Your skills and experience


  • As this is area of automated and low latency trading, IT proficiency in coding, scripting, usage of automation tools is key
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who takes pride in working for demanding clients both internal and external to the Firm
  • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills with a professional ownership of issues
  • Proficient technical, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to clearly present technology to a non-technical audience
  • Proven understanding of real time distributed application architectures and experience with message based protocols e.g. FIX.
  • Technical strengths would include the ability to demonstrate good knowledge of Windows/Unix/Linux. Also, this would include the basic use of a scripting language (Python, PERL)
  • Proven experience in IT automation and monitoring tools like ITRS
  • Prior Experience of Algo/Darkpool/Smart Order router
  • Preferably Good business knowledge of Equity market structure and asset classes (Stock, Futures, Options) and would include the ability to demonstrate an understanding of different instruments and how and where they trade
  • Prior Coding experience in C/C++ is preferred

The salary range, if this role is being hired in New York City, is $[130,000] - $[190,000] annually, based on various factors such as experience, education, skills, internal and external market data, etc
