POSITION SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant at Devon Industries will support the Accounting Manager in executing the duties of the Finance and Accounting department. This role has responsibilities in various areas of finance and accounting – accounts payable and receivable, and month-end closing. The role will also assist in the daily operations of the finance department including compiling and posting monthly journal entries, processing financial data in the accounting systems, generating financial reports including monthly P&L reports, reconciling balance sheet accounts, tracking fixed assets, and assisting in the month-end process.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Accurate and timely administration of accounts payable process – including the processing of vendor invoices and communicating with vendors and operations personnel.
- Invoicing customers, sending out monthly statements and weekly past due reminders, processing payments, tracking returns, and issuing credits.
- Reviewing accounts payable batches and payment support documents for accuracy
- Assisting other team members in the daily operations and special projects as needed
- Assisting in ad hoc projects
- 5+ years’ experience in a finance-related environment.
- Bachelor`s degree (Finance or Accounting).
- CPA or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
- Mathematical proficiency
- Advanced understanding of Finance Tools and Analytical Methods.
- Ability to prioritize, troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve concurrent issues under aggressive deadlines and competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Use and understand statistical modeling software and spreadsheets.
- Experience working with NetSuite, Manufacturing, Inventory, and Distribution is a plus.
