Nevada Risk Pooling Inc. (NRP) is a unique non-profit organization which provides management and support services for POOL/PACT members representing more than 130 local government entities in the state of Nevada. By pooling resources, Nevada public entities can obtain superior and cost-effective general liability and property, casualty coverage at a reasonable price and benefit from incomparable human resources and risk management resources which benefit employees and the public they serve. Our Accounting and Administrative Technician (AAT) will work with NRP staff to benefit POOL/PACT membership of cities, counties, towns, school districts, hospitals, and special districts.
The AAT will be knowledgeable in MS Office with expert skills in Word and Excel. The position will perform a variety of bookkeeping and complex clerical tasks involving transactions in accounts payable and receivables, perform administrative, clerical and office support functions, and analysis of members data and interact with internal and external management levels and members.
The AAT serves the team in the following manner:
· Performs routine posting, bookkeeping, cost accounting, check processing and related clerical accounting work in Sage Accounting system.
· Performs maintenance on an assigned set of accounts including postings, reconciliations, and trail balance, and performs other account maintenance activities.
· Provides administrative, clerical and office support functions.
In addition, the AAT will:
· Maintain all aspects of Microsoft Dynamics database.
· Assist management in the preparation and notification of board meetings.
· Develop written documents and reports; and
· May be assigned special projects.
The AAT will report to senior management and work in the office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with occasional overtime required.
The ideal candidate will have:
· Associate degree with course work in accounting, finance, planning, public administration, or a related field PLUS at least two years of progressively responsible work experience in bookkeeping, clerical and analysis of information.
· Public-sector experience in Nevada
· Excellent writing and presentation skills
· Microsoft Office proficiency, Dynamics 365, and mastery of Word & Excel
· Customer-service orientation
Our competitive salary starts at $50,000 and is dependent upon qualifications. Our incredible benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as 18 days PTO accrued the first year plus eleven paid holidays, and employer-paid SEP IRA after one year.
