We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Activities Director to join our team at Meadowbrook Post Acute. As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive activities program that meets the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of our residents. You will work closely with our residents, their families, and staff members to create a vibrant and engaging environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee a diverse range of activities, programs, and events for residents of all abilities and interests.
  • Plan and coordinate outings, trips, and special events both on-site and off-site.
  • Collaborate with residents, families, and staff to create a monthly activities calendar that reflects their preferences and needs.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of activity assistants and volunteers.
  • Assess the interests and abilities of residents through observation and interaction to ensure activities are tailored to their individual needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of participation, progress, and feedback related to activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with current trends, research, and best practices in the field of senior activities to continuously enhance the program.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where residents feel valued, respected, and engaged.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as nursing and therapy, to incorporate activities that promote overall well-being.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and standards related to activities.

Qualifications:

  • Activity Director Certified (Required)
  • May be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional who is certified by a recognized accrediting body or qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapist assistant
  • Previous experience as an Activities Director or in a similar role within a senior living or healthcare setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with residents, families, and staff.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Creativity and innovation in designing and implementing activities.
  • Knowledge of the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of older adults.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of activity assistants and volunteers.
  • Proficiency in using technology for activity planning, documentation, and communication.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices in senior activities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
