Admissions Specialist at St. Luke Health Services

St. Luke Health Services, a 200 bed skilled nursing facility in Oswego, NY is looking to hire a Full Time (Monday – Friday) Admissions Specialist. The Admissions Specialist will assist with growing and stabilizing the census and payer mix of the facility through a variety of strategies including: exercising a working understanding of the census and payer mix, using good judgment to educate community referral sources about our services, and promoting the positive image of the organizations in the St. Luke Family of Caring.

Job Duties:

• Maintain and complete accurate admissions files and referral logs in an organized and timely manner.
• Coordinating the admission in conjunction with interdepartmental staff.
• Execute, collect and review all necessary documentation for admissions.
• Verifies insurances, obtains insurance authorizations for new admission(s).
• Respond to inquiries, offer assistance, guidance and referral information, as appropriate.
• Greeting of new admissions and accompany to the unit.
• Conducts tours and assists in coordinating admissions as needed.
• Assure seamless and customer-friendly care transitions.
• Enter new referral data into the computer system.
• Assist in communicating with hospital discharge planners and families and offer beds.
• ·Arrange for special equipment, IVs and other specialty items as necessary.

Preferred Skills:

• 2-3 years of related experience in Admissions, Social Work or Nursing.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Must be Covid-19 vaccinated, or a willingness to do so.
