JOB LOCATION: Waukee and Walnut Creek YMCA's
HOURS/DAYS SCHEDULE: Sunday Afternoon starting at 4:00pm
PAY RANGE: $10.50-$12.25/hour
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: May 24, 2023- Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Operating within the policies, procedures, and practices of the YMCA of Greater Des Moines, this position is responsible for supervising an assigned site and the activities of the participating members/guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Supervise activities located at site assigned to.
• Supervise members/guests participating at site and enforce rules and policies.
• Exercise sound judgment in situations not covered by policies, procedures, and practices.
• Report specific problems or needs to supervisor or designated staff person.
• Know emergency procedures and be able to demonstrate them.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
• Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical functions
• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Minimum one years of customer service experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Current Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Certification OR equivalent – prior to starting.
• Intro to Y’s Cause & Culture Online Course - prior to starting if hired.
• Additional training to be completed within the first 30 days and maintained afterwards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Visual, auditory, and verbal ability to communicate with people and monitor property and activity
• Ability to handle disgruntled individuals without personalizing comments
• Ability to perform light physical activity
• Ability to adapt to variety of and changing working condition
